The First Appointment:
Understanding Your Health
Your first appointment begins with a consultation and neuromusculoskeletal examination with Dr. Dotson. He’ll assess your range of motion, perform orthopedic tests, and evaluate your spine to see what’s limiting your movement.
If X-rays are needed, we’ll take them in our office with digital imaging, so you get answers without traveling elsewhere.
After your exam, you’ll go home while he reviews your films and develops your personalized care strategy. This two-visit process helps us create an effective plan, though if you’re in severe discomfort or have an upcoming trip, he may provide relief during your first visit.
Your Second Appointment:
Relief and Hope Ahead
During your second, 30-minute appointment, he will review your findings, show you your X-rays, and explain whether he can help you reach your health goals. You’ll receive a care plan, usually starting with a corrective phase to restore movement and reduce stress on your spine.
Our team will review your insurance if you have Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, or Medicare, or outline discounted cash options. Once your plan and finances are set, you will receive your first adjustment, spend 10 minutes on our intersegmental traction table, and then receive take-home exercises to support your recovery between visits.
